National Fitness Day

IMG_2863

Three books that celebrate the many, varied benefits of exercise…#FitnessDay aims to celebrate what our health and fitness means to us, promoting that looking after our mental and physical health means something different to us all.

Whether you have discovered a love for wildwater swimming, need to get outside for a walk every day, have your eye on a triathlon or two, or want to feel a bit stronger and more flexible, theywant to get everybody spreading the message that #YourHealthIsForLife. Check out their website for activities and events near you.

My preferred exercise is running, but my achilles isn’t cooperating right now, and rehab is slow progress. I find weights really hard to do, both from a strength and motivation point of view, but I’m very aware that strength training is so important for bone density and muscle mass for women in their 50s. So, quite proud of myself this morning for a home upper body weights session followed by some pilates.
